Two-factor authentication  (TFA)

Rental Car Manager provides a two-factor authentication service to help secure your RCM password.  Just like your banks token authentication, the RCM authentication solution enhances the security of your RCM account by using your mobile phone to verify your identity. This prevents someone else from accessing your RCM account, even if they know your password.   We highly recommend this option as it provides a higher level of online security than a password which is especially important if your system is configured to allow entry and viewing of credit card details and other sensitive personal or financial information.

The steps below guide you through the initial setup of two-factor authentication for your RCM login.  Once this is setup as long as you don't change your location or the device you are connecting from you only need to enter a validation code once every 30 days.

IMPORTANT NOTE :   You must ensure that your mobile phones date and time is accurate.   Generally this means setting your phones time to be based on "internet time" or similar.  If your mobile phones time is not accurate you will NOT be able to login into RCM.

Step 1. Installing the Google and Windows authentication app on your mobile phone.

The first step is to install the authentication app on your mobile phone.  For Apple and Android users the Google Authenticator app can be used.  For Windows mobile phone users please download the Microsoft Authenticator app.  A summary of the links to download the required apps is below.
